Booking questions
Do I need a GP referral?
Self-pay patients can usually book without a referral. Insurers often require one, along with an authorisation code. Check with your insurer before booking.
Can I bring my child?
Yes, at clinics where children's dermatology is offered. A parent or guardian should attend with anyone under 16.
Is the consultation fee the full cost?
Not always. Procedures, pathology, medicines and follow-ups can be charged separately. Your clinician will explain any extra costs before treatment.
Is this an emergency service?
No. If you have symptoms that could be life-threatening, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E. For urgent medical advice, call NHS 111.
